Javier Da Luz

Uruguayan composer, pianist and singer, Javier Da Luz began his artistic journey at seven.

Meet Javier (DJALUZ)

Initially, he sang in carnival comparsas, practicing candombe, an infusion of folk music and dance,
a style rooted in the african traditions of Uruguay.

At eleven, Da Luz began his piano studies at the Robert Schuman Institute in Montevideo,
Uruguay.

There, he refined his education in organ and music theory, becoming a skilled pianist and
composer.

At fifteen, he gave his first international performance as a pianist with a musical group in
Asuncion, Paraguay.

He accompanied several local and international artists in Uruguay,Argentina,Brasil and Paraguay,
with a notable performance alongside Gilberto Santa Rosa ,el caballero de la salsa, among others.

In 2007 he made his debut performance with his father in Europe at the renowned Montreux Jazz
Festival, among other events in Switzerland.

Currently residing in Switzerland, Da Luz engages in various musical projects in addition to his
solo career, which began in 2022.
